Popularity of names in Spain, 2015

Note: The data from the source do not include grave and acute accents in the names shown, so I am not going to add them in this post.

Spain 2015

Hugo and Lucia are still king and queen of the baby name charts in Spain in 2015. Hugo is at the top of the charts for the 3rd year in a row while Lucia stays on for the 13th year.

Here are the top 10 names for each gender:

In the top 10, the new entrants are Lucas and Julia, replacing Diego and Valeria. In the top 100, newcomers include Youssef, Mauro, Noah, Omar and Ibai & Azahara, Cayetana, Nadia and Cloe, replacing Jose Manuel, Jordi, Roberto, Cesar and Yeray & Yanira, Fatima, Erika and Sandra.

The biggest risers are, for rank, Dylan, Azahara (newcomer) and Olivia (non-newcomer). For numbers, they are Martin and Triana.
The biggest fallers, on the other hand, are, for rank, Nicolas and Andrea. For numbers, we’ve got Nicolas (again!) and Maria.
